Skillet Brownie Sundae for Two

A mini cast-iron skillet brownie baked until fudgy and served warm with your favorite sundae toppings. Perfect for date night or a shared chocolate treat.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated white sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips, plus more for topping
  • Sliced strawberries, hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream (optional toppings)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Whisk melted butter and sugar 1 minute. Add vanilla and egg; whisk 1–2 minutes more.
  3. Stir in cocoa, flour, salt, baking powder, and chocolate chips until just combined.
  4. Spread batter into a buttered 5–6 inch iron skillet and top with extra chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Bake on center rack 20 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. Serve warm with optional toppings.
