Old Fashioned

Yield: 1 cocktail From Episode 21

A timeless cocktail: sugar (or maple), Angostura bitters, whiskey, ice, and a cherry-orange finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp sugar or maple syrup
  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1.75 ounces whiskey (100-proof bourbon or rye preferred)
  • Orange twist, for garnish
  • 1 maraschino cherry, for garnish

Steps

  1. Stir sugar, water, and bitters together in a rocks glass until dissolved.
  2. Drop in a large ice cube (or regular ice) and pour the whiskey over it.
  3. Finish with the orange twist and cherry.
