Black Garlic Butter Steak and Brie Croissant Melt

Yield: 2 sandwiches From Episode 42

Seared steak, melted brie, and savory black garlic butter tucked into toasted croissants—café-level indulgence in about 25 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 croissants, halved
  • 8 oz ribeye or sirloin steak
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon black garlic paste (or roasted garlic paste)
  • 4 oz brie cheese, sliced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Steps

  1. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high and sear 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Rest 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the black garlic paste until combined.
  3. Lightly toast the croissant halves in a pan or toaster oven.
  4. Layer brie on the bottom halves, add warm steak, drizzle with black garlic butter, and top with the croissant lids.
  5. Warm on a baking sheet at 350°F for 3 to 5 minutes until the brie melts.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
