BBQ Hot Dogs with Cilantro Slaw
Grilled all-beef dogs brushed with barbecue sauce and piled with crunchy, creamy cilantro-cabbage slaw on toasted brioche buns.
Cilantro Slaw
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- Black pepper
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 1/4 small head savoy cabbage, shredded
- 1/4 head red cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
Hot Dogs
- Vegetable oil, for the grill
- 8 brioche hot dog buns
- 8 all-beef hot dogs
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
Steps
- Heat the grill to medium-high. Whisk the slaw dressing; toss with carrot, cabbages, and onion (hold the cilantro).
- Oil the grates; toast the buns 1 to 2 minutes. Grill the dogs, brushing with barbecue sauce and turning, 4 to 5 minutes until charred and glossy.
- Place the dogs in the buns and brush with remaining sauce. Toss cilantro into the slaw and pile on top of the dogs.
