Air Fryer Pickles
Dill pickle spears dredged in a spiced batter and crunchy panko, then air fried until golden—lighter than deep frying with all the crunch.
Ingredients
- 3–4 large dill pickles, cut into spears
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp salt, divided
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Oil spray (optional)
Steps
- Pat pickle spears dry with paper towels.
- Bowl 1: flour, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne, and 1/2 tsp salt.
- Bowl 2: buttermilk and egg, then whisk in 1/4 cup of the flour mixture.
- Bowl 3: panko, remaining 1/2 tsp salt, and olive oil mixed until coated.
- Dredge spears in flour, dip in buttermilk batter, then coat in panko.
- Air fry in a single layer at 400°F for 8–10 minutes until golden. Spray lightly with oil around the 6-minute mark if you want extra color.
